<image:caption>Gallery Description The COPS series came about in the winter of 1975 when I was granted access to the Kansas City Missouri Police Department for the purpose of documenting the day-to-day workings of the organization. I was given wide access and made visits to Police Academy, Aviation Unit (it was called Sky Patrol back then), Detective Division, K9 Unit, Headquarters and the Central Patrol Division. These photos capture the small dramas of police and citizens moving through the routine of their daily lives. What strikes me most is how vintage the images are now. There are no desktop computers, no cell phones or tablets. Paper dictionaries were used instead of spell check. So much has changed for police since these images were taken. It was rare to have a chance to capture the moments in these image. Today it would be just as rare for them not to be imaged in some way at any moment.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Gallery Description The Missouri State Fair has operated at the state fairgrounds in Sedalia since 1901. It lasts 11 days in the later part of August. August of 1978, when these were taken, was very hot with temperatures exceeding 100 degrees. The fair that year attracted 296,933 visitors. Among the headliners performing the fair were Kenny Rogers, Mel Tillus, Waylen Jennings and Merle Haggard. The World of Outlaws raced for the first time at the Missouri State Fair Speedway with hall of fame Rick Ferkel taking the cup. Anita Vanetti from Markville was crowned Missouri State Fair Queen.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Gallery Description Zucatti Park was Ground Zero for the Occupy Wall Street movement. OWS was started as a call for protest against income inequality by the Canadian group Adjusters. What started as a protest became a political movement that still resonates. The park itself, only a square block, is located in the financial district of lower Manhattan. It lies directly across the street from where the World Trade Center stood. The park was taken over by the protestors and transformed into it's own city-state. The social structure was democratic with nightly meetings to discuss governance over a very fluid time. It was as well organized as possible. The park had it's own free food court staffed by volunteers, a book store to help residents pass the time, entertainment in the form of endless drumming, a power company staffed with residents powering any manor of devices with bike driven generators, a hospital, a store with hand-made cigarettes, and a thrift store with warm clothes and blankets. They had a sanitation department, no police department (they didn't feel it was necessary because they were literally surrounded by police in riot gear) and lots of live theater. I visited Zucatti Park on Halloween 2011, two weeks before the police moved in and forced everybody out. The day before I visited, the park was deluged with 2 inches of sloppy wet snow that turned to slush. Everyone was trying to dry out. One of my favorite images is the prayer flags and wet laundry hanging together in the breeze. As I wandered about the park taking these photos, I sensed the ocurrence of a unique moment in history.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Work - Pin1</image:title>
<image:caption>Gallery Description Machaglyph is based on my observation that given time, all machines will find a way to express themselves. The Pin series examines the stories told by a set of bowling pin setting machines. These particular machines reside in a bowling alley in the basement of a church in downtown Kansas City Kansas. The smooth plastic covering of a bowling pin provides a wonderful canvas for the machines to scribe their time. These images are actually a blending of expressions of five lanes at the bowling alley, each one with a different voice. I believe these expressions will some day be looked upon like Newspaper Rock in Utah. In todays topography it would be more like a comment board or chat room. The typography found on these recordings are richly dense with expression. In order to explore their stories more fully, I break it down into chapters to allow a closer look. I believe these images are recordings of the earliest prehistory of machines. Before machines invented writing systems, created code. Not unlike how cave drawings only now being discovered, revealing humanity's earliest forms or expression. P.S. I think Werner Herzog is a hero.</image:caption>

<image:caption>  Gallery Description My current work is abstract. It is all derived or sourced from a light-formed image. Some of my sources are film-based but mostly I work in the digital realm. I have been working digitally since the beginning, before Photoshop and before digital cameras. I found an affinity to using a machine as my medium. The reason for that is probably because I can’t draw. How I use technology to render my ideas has been an evolution of capabilities and interests that I have sought out along the way. Currently, I am exploring the spatial nature of the world. I want to give voice to the fact that we live in a dimensional universe and my art reflects that. My subjects are not significant in and of themselves, but serve to define the dimensional nature of our existence. I see beyond a surface representation, and my images portray the complexities and nuances that fill our lives. The ideas behind my work fall along two lines, creations that follow nature and others that are a result of man. Currently I am exploring imagery where the two lines meet or sometimes collide. Communication is a continuing theme in my work. My purpose in exploring these subjects is to give light to the reality that much of what passes as knowledge consists of notions drawn from somewhere on a spectrum of facts and ideas and is never the whole story. Often my work draws upon post-industrial iconography to illustrate the human condition’s narrow aperture of understanding which prevents us from seeing the world in its vast complexity. My interest in depicting the “wider world” stems from the beginning of my spatial studies. I started my investigation with holographic imaging. I made actual spatial renderings of real objects. The ability to capture the entire story proved to me that it is possible to convey a literally deeper meaning to my ideas. My awareness of broader horizons has been influenced by my time working at the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art where I serve as the Senior Photographer. In my time there I have explored an encyclopedic collection of mankind’s most brilliant, all times, all cultures. This unique and privileged opportunity has furthered my understanding of how we interpret the world we live in and has worked to influence my work. I create all of my work using Photoshop, which serves primarily as a tool rather than an influence; a very sharp tool that allows me to fashion my ideas the way a sculptor orders matter and space into existence. Having good tools is necessary for me to render the complex nature of my work. Currently I am using a more accessible technology to put forth my ideas. I employ special viewing glasses to fully access or unlock my work. It is my goal to make work that is free from needing the glasses to comprehend but is fully revealed when they are used. I see them as the key to unlocking the entire nature of my work. I currently am using ink jet printing for output.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Wavefront 65 v3 John Lamberton is fascinated by Quantum Physics. This interest inspires his photographic exploration of wavefronts. Lamberton creates a unique visual interplayof particles and waves by recording over space and time. In this body of work he employs single, double and triple exposures to record luminous light sources in a painterly manner. His use of a negative capture and a positive display beautifully describes the duality of how we choose to observe the world.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Wavefront 152 John Lamberton is fascinated by Quantum Physics.
